18th September 2011 (13th day)

18th September 2011 (13th day)
Morning call by hotel at 6:00am, breakfast at 6:30am and we’re going to depart at 7:00am (:

Breakfast Meal!

Breakfast was porridge, 2 unknown vegetables, buns with noodle inside, bean sprout and more vegetables. And it’s somehow like Singaporeans breakfast, because Singaporeans do eat porridge as breakfast. But the difference is the porridge over here is very watery and taste tasteless and vegetables is supposed to mix in then it will taste better.
Queing to take the environmental bus up!

After breakfast, we depart from the hotel and bought our bags all up to the bus. And we had a 5minute bus ride up to the cable area whereby we will set off from there and up to !!!! When we reached, the place is filled with many tourists. Soon we heard a new from Mr. Wee that unfortunately the cable cars will be close due to unforeseen weather. We didn’t expect this situation to happen and we’re not prepared for the worst. But we have no choice but we are given 2 choices, the first one is to go to other places for visit, and the next is to climb up and down for 6 hours.  With much guts, everyone agreed to climb the mountain despite the cold weather. When everyone agreed, Klinton and Brandon went to get raincoat and the army pattern covering for the shoe. They bought it at 400RMB for 12 people. After that we set off to take the environmental bus up to the mountain whereby people start to do trekking. It route up has a lot of narrow turning; therefore I just close my eyes and try to sleep.

The girls wore army pattern for shoe protection

When we reach the place whereby we are going to start to trek, it was really cold compared to the hotel we left or the cable car areas. So we bought gloves to protect our hands, and I bought two from two different stall as they gave different pattern. After getting it, we go to the toilet and settle with the pair-up session.

Took a picture while walking! with our excited face!!!

The whole trekking process finished and we went to a hotel area to meet the rest of the people. After that we took a bus down the mountain and to a restaurant for lunch. From everyone’s face, a lot of them are feeling unwell and some look tired. After eating, we hopped unto another bus and shortly we went for toilet break to change our clothes. Then we enjoyed the Karate Kid movie on bus and go to our hotel (U-inn hotel).
Once we reached, Mr. Wee distributed the room cards (Room 8010) and then we had our dinner after putting down our bags. After eating, we went back to our room and rest for the night and going back Wuhan tomorrow morning.
This experience of climbing up to the peak of the mountain has test on me again. It is again a test about preserving through the whole climbing process without giving up. It was a tedious challenge for me this year because I did not join any running event this year, perhaps this would be my challenge. Anyway when we started trekking, the temperature was 15 Degree Celsius and when we start to climb higher and higher, the temperature starts to drop. I asked the lady that guide our group that what’s the temperature at the peak, she told me was 5 Degree Celsius. I was expecting that answer because it’s is so cold that my hand is numb even it’s covered with wet gloves.

US! with Gao-Jie, our tour guide up to Wu Dang Shan

Klinton and I walked together throughout the trip and we made it to the peak despite that there are almost countless flight of steps and uncountable steps in all. Both of us encouraged each other to press on to keep climbing up the mountain as sometimes I felt so tired to continue. We did not expect the weather to be so bad, as it continues to rain and lead to the weather even getting colder. In addition, we came totally unprepared because most of us only wore jeans and top, instead we should wear thicker jacket or wind breaker.  So we didn’t have sufficient protection on us.
Anyway we did stop at some checkpoint to rest when our legs are really tired and everyone needs to restore their energy. Therefore, some of us bought Herbal Eggs, Corn and our favourite drink is Milk Tea with the Jay Chou face on the plastic cup. I’m going to get the milk tea when I’m back in Wuhan because you are my survivor and Jay Chou is my fan when I’m young! So I shall just get it back hostel.
I felt that this climbing experience is beneficial to anyone who climbed and they may overcome their own fears, target, ability, and mindset so on. This may also increase their friendship bonding with their friends and helped each other throughout this process because they need to encourage each other to press on and continue. Somemore if the weather is really cold, they have to think of ways that can warm each other.
