11th September 2011 (6th day)

11th September 2011 (6th day)

Today's programme is freedom to go anywhere we like because it is a Sunday.

We had our breakfast at the “all-time-favourite” stall and with the drink again! After that, we walked to the bus stop and took Bus 715 to Hankou.

The machine at China is that they put our dollar note inside, unlike Singapore, we use tapping of ez-link card. And sometimes the bus driver would not bother about how much you put in because you can fold the notes. There is also so much people squezzing and boarding the bus, therefore to enjoy the bus ride is difficult. Singapore's bus is big and spacious and the air-con is super cooling compared to here.

The bus ride was 2hr and the temperature is seriously hot because it is 32 degree Celsius. And I was perspiring inside the bus and also I spotted this uncle, who took out his shirt on bus. If I was in Singapore, I would have Stomp it. In order to get there, we will cross a bridge that is called“大桥”, which is the combination of car and train together.

The uncle who stripped

Once we reached, we walk and saw a stretch of shops that sell food. Due to the hot weather, some girls bought Ice cream and there’s Magnum which only saw 5RMB, $1, much cheaper compared to Singapore. And the guys lead us to walk and shop around the place. As we walk, we need to cross this road and the cars are non-stop and they seem never ending. So we have to take the courage and walk across together as a group. If you are timid and do not have the courage, you do not need to cross over already.  Soon we walk to the Wholesale shopping centre and there are really a lot of accessories and goods. Of course I bought some stuffs because the price are reasonable. In Hankou, it is famous for its commercial city, therefore there will be a lot of shopping centre and streets everywhere.

Ice cream on hot day! Shiok!

Selling this unique food! Cow ?

When all the girls are tired, the guys came and find us to decide on where to go for dinner. And we are deciding if we should Bus back to Wuhan and have dinner over there or Ferry to Hubuxiang and then bus back. After much discussion and some gave in and played with tossing coin, we went to Hubuxiang.  Due to our ambiguity, we carried the map out today and it came to good use because we followed the route to the ferry jetty. And of course ask some of the shop tenants when are not sure if we are walking the right directions. After walking for some distance, we reached the place and of course took some pictures before going to the jetty place. The price of the ferry ticket is only 2RMB, $0.40! Which I didn’t expect it to be so cheap because it is a ferry, not a bus. It’s cooling as we went up to the open area at Level2 and when the ferry travel, we could see the three places in Hubei province; Hankou, Wuchang and Hanyang. It took about 20 minutes to reach Hankou. And easily, just cross the road and turn left at the junction, we have reached Hubuxiang Street.
There are a lot of yummy foods over there, I ate:
·         Smelly Toufu
·         Small Lobster
·         Garlic Oyster
·         Chili Squid
·         Fried Ice Cream
·         Fried Banana
·         Chicken Wings
·         Potato Balls
·         Lime tea
·         Strawberry Yougurt that helped me to digest.
Since the day I arrived at Wuhan till now, I have indigestion and hoping that I eat this yogurt, would help to digest. And yes, indeed, it works! I still remembered that I digested at 11:36pm that day and I was feeling so good.
Aftermath, we bused back to Wuhan Polytechnic while a few of my friends alighted to just get cake for another friend (Huizhen) because the next day is her birthday. And we want to give her a surprise as she is my scandal and inside our class. Despite many of class we so tired and wants to write journal, we stayed awake till 12:00am and appeared outside her door and sang a birthday song with birthday cake. And I guessed she is surprised.
Sweet Dreams and a new week is starting.
