Today’s Programme is one PJM lecture in the morning and one IS lesson in the afternoon (Traditional Chinese Philosophy).
Today PJM taught about planning techniques. There are different types, and teacher focused on Critical Path Method (CPM). And we are given a question to do and tried out, my diagram is so messy. Guess I need more practice and should start studying for my upcoming test already. After that we went back to our hostel and put down our stuffs and head to the 热干面店 to have our lunch. Everyone ordered 牛肉面,at 7RMB, $1.4 for a bowl. Where could you find such cheap bowl over at Singapore and yet it is delicious? Anyway we noticed something when we reach there. There’s a woman sitting outside the store, washing the different types of vegetables and there are many flies flying around it. And she soak the 梅菜 inside the washing bowl and inside there’s flies. And I’m wondering what if it is in Singapore, and citizens saw this, they would definitely get complained from the Health Promotion Board. Something I observed as that the food tenant in Singapore do not have the cleanliness rating like Singapore. In this case we do not know if the food over there is clean anot and I wonder if there’s inspection regularly held like Singapore.
After eating, some went to minimart to get some grocery before heading back to IS and wait for afternoon IS lesson to start.
IS lesson is taught by a slightly older woman teacher and she started off quite fun, as she gave a few of us chocolate inside “this red egg container”. And there will 3 egg out of 10, inside will have mask, blue slip or yellow slip. Mask is to give speech, blue slip is to ask a question and lastly yellow slip is to answer a question. In this way of teaching, it interests the student because there’s interaction and more teachers held more of this kind of teaching. She continues to talk about China’s life expectancy. And I came to realized that the there is differences between the urban and rural residents life expectancy. Urban residents is 76 years (73 men, 78 woman) and rural residents is 71.25 years (69.23 male, 73.42 female) according to research. She also talks a lot about the differences between the Chinese and German people.
Such as:
· Chinese people has high-contextual device while the germens are very direct so called the low-contextual device.
· Chinese do not arrive on time yet the germens always arrive punctually
· The Chinese will show that they are happy actually they are not, they hide their feelings while the germens don’t, they show what they are feeling.
· Chinese girls loves white and fair skin while the germens prefer tanning have tan skin.
· Elderly that are Chinese likes to take care of their grandchildren while the germens do not like, and they prefer pets.
And something to mention is that when we want to go to the toilet, we will need to walk back to our hostel home. Because the toilet over there is too smelly, even when are standing outside the toilet, the smell is already very strong. One of my friend went in before and she saw that there’s no toilet bowl but just steps, and those shits still remain there.
After that, went to Walmart with my roommate (Daphne) to get some food. We walked till the traffic and saw this man on the vehicle and started spraying water using a hose on the trees at the road. And those people that are walking pass has to wait for him to spray finish first before and continue walking. Unlike Singapore, the gardener will be walking around and spraying and not standing on the vehicle. Perhaps the area to spray is really big, so they have to act fast. And I realized sometimes people see there is no car passing by and they just walk, which is similar to Singapore. But I felt that it is dangerous to do so, and I will not take the risk, and shall just wait for the traffic light.
Reached Walmart, bought our stuffs and forgot to help teacher to get his dental floss, felt bad which he needed badly):
