13th September 2011 (8th day)

13th September 2011 (8th day)
Programme today is PJM (Project Management) in the morning and the afternoon.
Set alarm clock at 7plus am and woke up at 8:20am. Ate cereals for breakfast using the water dispenser and pressed for hot water and didn’t know it came out with normal temperature water. And so not to waste it, I ate it. In Singapore, I used boiled water and over here, I’m drinking water from the dispenser every day. After preparing everything, went for lesson and teacher taught about Site organization and I observed that teacher likes to talk about his experience in work life. I liked Mr. Wee teaching because he taught us in a way that it makes the whole module interesting. And we are informed that our test will be held the next Thursday on 22nd of September, covering 4-5 Chapters and I think they are in essay formats.
After lesson, we went for lunch at canteen. Bought two bowls of 3 RMB rice, $0.60 for two bowl of rice, and took an extra paper bowl to contain our ingredients. Ordered for Bean sprout, 丝瓜,梅菜和肉, glass noodles with vegetables. We shared among ourselves and felt so full after this meal because their serving portion is large over here compared to Singapore. Over here, they prepare the standard food everyday and it’s more about staple food instead of our school, they sells different cuisine whereas over here is only Chinese cuisine. It will lead to getting bored of the food sooner or later, but we have to spent finish the available amount of money inside the tap card.
We went back to our home to rest awhile and get ready for afternoon tutorial lesson, going through Tutorial1. After lesson, we came back to put our bags before we go out and celebrate Brandon’s birthday at Guangu KTV place. We took Bus 510 to reach there and it only cost each of us 1RMB to board the bus. Once we reached, we went up to the KTV and there’s promotion for people whose birthday is held on this month, which is Daphne and Brandon. Therefore they helped everyone to get good rates.

The place of the KTV at Guan Gu

The look of the KTV room

The stage inside the KTV room

We spent our time from 5pm to 8pm inside with an extension of 1 hour. The room inside is spacious compared to Singapore’s one as you can see from the picture shown. The functions to operate the machine are somehow similar to Singapore one’s because both are touch-screen type. And their music over there follows the new trend, which has not much differ from Singapore. I think one of the difference is the space inside KTV. There is a special stage with a small seat over there, so if there's anyone who wants to perform and do so when please. However in Singapore, we do not have because the price per square feet is much higher than in China.
Watermelon sculpture

We sang and ordered tidbits and Breezer (6 bottles in total), and they also served us with beautiful sculpture of a watermelon. And also I realized that there will be a few people working there standing outside the rooms, perhaps they are there to guide people the directions to the room.  And the toilet over there is the nicest one that I ever been to since I reached China. But I didn’t capture down the image.  After KTV, we are deciding on what to eat and went back to near our school, our dinner-time favourite stall. We took the private small bus again, and it’s 30RMB, split among 11 people.

Ordered food and drank our all-time-favourite; 王老吉 drink! Cheers and birthday to Brandon again, our class joker! Came back home and received a message that tomorrow’s lesson is change from 8:15am to 9:15am. And here I am writing journal! Goodnight readers.
Tomorrow programme is PJM lesson in the morning and IS lecture in the afternoon and I guess it will replace that day lecture (Business Environment & Strategies of Doing Business)
