17th September 2011 (12th day)

17th September 2011 (12th day)
Today we are going to depart to go 武当山 and we are informed to meet 11am downstairs at Haiyi Building. In the morning, our clique is rushing for time because some of us woke up late and have not eaten breakfast. So the guys went to takeaway the 热干面 stall, Daphne and I went to helped to carry them back, while Klinton went around the rooms to spray mosquito repellent.
Soon we set off to武当山 and Klinton told me that he forgot to bring along my camera to this trip. Initially I was quite upset about it because I might or might not be going to this place ever in my life and I want to capture them down for memories and so on. But as I thought about it, I told myself that there should be times whereby I should use my eyes to explore the world without camera. Because with camera, it helped me to capture down the pictures and I don’t really try to remember the exact image, which will be a wasteful trip. Therefore, I did not blame him anymore.
The bus ride to the hotel area which is the foot of武当山 needs to take 6 hours, as the time travelling to is 4 hours. During the ride there, I saw an old lady walking at the express way and I wonder what is she doing and why is she walking at this express way? I cannot think of reason why she is walking there but I know that at the bottom, there are agriculture lands, whereby people do farming. So comparing this to Singapore, this can’t be seen in Singapore unless there is accident that happened and Singapore does not have agriculture lands beside express ways.
The bus also passed through toll whereby entering to a place, you need to pay a certain amount of money and you will have checkpoint nearby. This is similar to Malaysia while Singapore do not have, ours is ERP, which auto deduct the amount from the card slots in the vehicles. After the bus passed the toll, I alighted with my friends for toilet break and my friend told me that she saw the door was unlocked, so she thought no one was in there. And she opened and the grandma was shocked! This may be China culture that a lot of the elderly do not lock their doors when they go toilet, which is a difference from Singapore. After that we hopped unto the bus to continue with the trip.
The girls are brave and took a shot in the cold weather!

During the second break, more people get down the bus and this time it’s was super cold, I think it was about 16 Degree Celsius. All of us went to the shop and see if there’s anything that we could get, and something enlightens us, that are corns and herbal eggs. So we got 7 corns and few eggs, and I was the first to munch the corns, and I sulk my face after biting because the taste is totally different from Singapore. Singapore’s corn is juicy and sweet whereas China’s corn is tasteless and marshy. Therefore some of us thrown it away and I brought the eggs up to the bus and eat. It was at least better than the corn as the taste is acceptable, but I prefer Singapore’s one.  Their herbal egg is white in colour and has very little herbal taste though the soup inside the pot is brown.

Hotel Room

The view outside my room could see waterfall!

And the bus continued the journey and I fall asleep, till I heard my friends saying something about looking at the windows and I realized the temperature is getting colder. And ‘Karate Kid’ movie was played and we were told that there’re scene on武当山. So I watched till we reached the place and the scene didn’t appear yet. About 5pm, we reached the hotel place and gathered to take our room card (3038). My room-mate and I went up to unpack stuffs and we started to prank call each other by calling each other room number.

Took a picture while waiting for food!

Another table!

After that we went down to lobby for dinner, our table finished all the food except unpopular dishes, and our table even help to clear out table’s food.

After eating, went up to room and study abit before sleeping. A few hours later, I could be climbing up to the peak of武当山!
