Today is the second day of Three Gorges Dam excursion.
We have to wake up at 6plus in the morning despite everyone studying very hard last night, yet we have to make sure we’ll not be late to board the bus and delay the whole trip. Breakfast was held at level 2, they served like buffet kind style, which you have to queue for your food and pass them the coupon when you enter the place. My clique sat together around one big table and the food we took was shocking! The whole table is filled with food such as: Herbal Eggs, Vegetables, Kuay Teow, Dough sticks and 2 types of bun.
After our hearty breakfast, we sat off to Three Gorges Dam. There were 3 Bus rides when we are up at the place. The first ride brought us to the model project place, whereby we are showed with the model and there’s tour guide explaining how it is constructed and when..
Feast of food for breakfast~!
TRUE! ~~~~~
GROUP PIC!
I have realized or learnt that the three gorges project generate clean energy. Compared to the coal-fired power stations with equivalent electricity generation, it will reduce the emission of 110 million tons of carbon dioxide, 11000 tons nitric oxide, 2.2 million tons of sulfur dioxide and 420000 tons of nitrogen oxides ad save 57 million tons roar coal.
This project helps to discharge more water to the downstream in dry season after the reservoir is filled up, and it helps to maintain the water supply for industrial production and daily use, and improve water quality in the mid and lower reaches in dry season, which will relieve the invasion of saline tide in the river’s mouth to East China Sea.
They did the hand over head sign because in Singapore, they take 185 bus service back home! haha! (:
FOOD! different from Singapore sausage! totally. Theirs aren't juicy.
The second ride brought us to the 185 view, which is we’re standing 185m above mean sea level to see the three gorges dam clearly. Over there, there’s tenants selling food and souvenir, and I bought a necklace over there! (:
Memorial Park
LOOK HOW BIG IT IS~!
HOW TALL IS THE WHEEL! By the way Klinton is 176m.
The fatty meat stone!
The third ride brought us to the memorial park which commemorates the finish work of the three gorges dam which during the year of 2002, and the start work is during 1981. Of course, over there we saw the big bulldozer which is so huge that is used for the project. We also took pictures with it and walk further down; we could see a big piece of fatty meat stone.
We also visited the drawings exhibition, that drawn a lot of mountains,
and one of them that caught my attention was the FOR ME stone. The tour guide told us that the person driving the ship should not try to avoid the rock and turn the steering wheel when once saw the stone, if not it will end up hitting the rock. However those who do not turn the steering wheel will manage to survive through.
And this special mountain that actually looks like an eagle, and that’s why it got its name as Eagle Peak??!!
After that, we left the place and took cruise to experience crossing the three gorges dam! (: There were 3 levels inside the cruise. The first level is the hall, second level is the Bar area and lastly is the open area where you can relax to enjoy the breeze! As curious kids, we went up to the top level and sat there looking at the clear scenery, which one will remember how it feels when we’re there. It was cold and enjoyable with the wind blowing at us and our friends beside us. We even bought Ice Cream and went up to eat them~!
The Cruise!
The Bar!
The Sundae!
I took a video of how the cruise actually went down from 60m to 30m high and how amazing the water level difference from one side to another.
After the cruise trip, we board the bus and went back for dinner at the restaurant that I previously mentioned with poor service. This time round, they served us with proper cutlery, and after that we went back hotel and rest! Of course, to study till late again!
Goodnight, Tomorrow will be going to Three Gorges Waterfall.
